Church House, Alcester

Church House is the Meeting Hall and facilities of St Nicholas Church.
To book ring 01789 763723.

The redecorated hall (cap. 60 seats) has a refurbished parquet floor and is complemented by a new well-appointed kitchen with adjoining hatch. Modern toilets at the rear in what had been the former old rectory stables are separately accessible via the Church passageway off Butter Street.

The hall may be hired for community events both independently and in conjunction with events in St Nicholas Church.

Recent work on the refurbishment has revealed the rear gable of a grand timber framed 15th century dwelling house, behind which is another one, subsequently joined together.  At the end of 19th Century the front had become one of two cottages with the back converted for stables. Just over a century later the recent work has combined the property into one again.

The Church House Development Committee is working towards a refurbishment of the whole building as a central heritage site to provide modern facilities for the Alcester community.

Please visit the website
for more information and how to support this venture. About £70,000 is still needed to complete the whole project including the display of historic timber frames upstairs.
