ABOUT US

Stratford-on-Avon for Europe, or Stratford4Europe in short, is a local, cross- party, grass-roots organisation campaigning for Britain to play a leading role within a strong and united European Union.

While we acknowledge the result of the June 2016 referendum, Stratford4Europe is campaigning to make the positive case for the European Union in order to show, through the use of fair and honest argument, what leaving the EU will really mean for the people of Britain in terms of both our economy and national security. We believe that once people are exposed to the truth about Brexit, there will be a seismic shift in public opinion which will give our MPs the authority to either vote for Britain to remain in the European Union or to call for a second referendum.

Stratford4Europe consists of a committed and highly motivated Steering Group, which is always open to new members, as well as a rapidly growing supporter base. We have a wide range of ages and backgrounds but share in common the fact that we are all citizens with a deep concern that the future of this country will be severely damaged by leaving the EU. Recognising, however, that we are only one voice among many, we are campaigning closely alongside Regional, National and International groups and individuals who share our aims and are campaigning for the same objectives.

2017 saw increasing numbers of people joining campaigns nationwide to avert what many consider a harmful and damaging decision. Since the beginning of 2018 these numbers have continued to increase as many individuals realise that it is not too late to Stop and reconsider all options!


JOIN & REGISTER FOR A "PEOPLE'S VOTE"

If you are one of these individuals or part of a growing majority rejecting the UK's current path out of the EU, you are not powerless and it is not too late.

 The British public is increasingly concerned about Brexit; poll after poll shows a bigger majority for staying in the EU and negotiating reforms from within. 700,000 people marched on Parliament on 20/10/2018, the biggest demonstration since the Iraq War.

As the reality of our exit from the EU becomes clear, we hear frustrations from those who voted and campaigned to leave, but now believe the country is headed for disaster. But the Government is not listening.

It is up to us to make them hear and you can do this by joining us at the "PUT IT TO THE PEOPLE" - People's March on 23rd March 2019 or registering with The People's Vote Campaign:


The Put It To The People march will be the most important protest of our generation. Clear your diary, bring your family, tell your friends about the march. Make sure this protest is so loud and so big that no one can ignore it.

Alongside other national groups, Stratford4Europe and WarwickDistrict4Europe are co-hosting coaches to London to participate in the Put It To The People march on Saturday March 23rd. Friends and supporters of both Stratford4Europe and WarwickDistrict4Europe are warmly invited to travel on the coaches.

On the 23rd of March, just six days before the Government hopes to take Britain out of the EU, hundreds of thousands of people will march on Parliament offering a solution to a crisis that threatens their living standards, businesses and jobs. We demand a People’s Vote, and come 23rd March, it could be a case of now or never.

Bring flags, banners, placards, sandwiches and beverages for the journey and day. Also please remember to bring or wear appropriate shoes and protection from the elements. Bags can be left on the coach during the event and there is ample space in the coach stowage to accommodate mobility aids (wheelchair, collapsible chairs, etc.) and children’s pushchairs. There will be toilet facilities onboard the coach.

WHERE AND WHEN ARE WE MARCHING?

Park Lane, London
Assemble from 12 noon.

We will assemble on Park Lane, north of the Hilton Hotel, on 23rd March from 12 noon.

We will then march to Parliament Square, where there will be speeches calling for a People’s Vote. We hope to make it to hear these but past experience tells us that if huge numbers turn out as expected then we may not make it that far!
