Art Studio Opens it’s doors in Alcester
An Exhibition of Paintings and tableware design at the Tom Shepherd Art Studio

Painter Tom Shepherd is teaming up with Pattern Designer Sara Page for this years Warwickshire Open Studios Event. They openly welcome you to Tom’s studio to share not only their most recent work but also their creative processes and the ideas behind the art.
Tom’s representational paintings are loose and colourful. He loves to paint a wide range of subjects from local life, wildlife and animals; in particular birds, to inspiring scenes from travels around the world. All the time asking, “What’s the light doing?” As well as original paintings of all sizes there will also be fine art prints and greetings cards. Tom has had work shown all over the country including paintings hung in the Wildlife Artist of Year of exhibition in London, one of which received a ‘Highly Commended’ honor from the judges.
Sara is a tableware pattern designer. For this Open Studios exhibition, Sara has set out to reveal the creative process that lies behind the painterly style seen on her kitchen product designs. Surprisingly to some Sara uses stitch and appliqué to inform her drawing and painting. “I’m having fun seeing pattern evolve, whilst enjoying line, stitch, fabric, colour and shape.” says Sara, and will be exhibiting the stitch, appliqué pieces, and imagery generated, using a new colour pallet and themes. Sara has no idea what the end result will be, so make sure you come and see!!
