CAN AND SHOULD PARLIAMENT STOP BREXIT? - BRENDAN DONNELLY - Talk followed by Q&A
|Date:||Wednesday, 24 May 2017||Location:||Stratford-on-Avon High School - Alcester Road - Stratford-on-Avon - CV37 9DH|
|Time:||19:00 - 21:00||Cost:||Free but by Ticket only booked through Eventbrite|
ABOUT THE EVENT
Brendan will be answering two crucial questions: can Parliament stop Brexit and should Parliament stop Brexit? Brendan’s view is that Parliament can if it wants to, and should want to if it believes that Brexit will not be in the national interest. While Brendan supports those MPs who genuinely believe Brexit is in the national interest voting in favour of it, there are in Brendan’s view too many MPs who do not believe Brexit is in the national interest but who are now too frightened to vote with their better judgement.
Brendan’s talk comes at a critical time in the run-up to Theresa May’s snap election on June 8th when she is banking on a huge majority to enable her to stamp out opposition both in her own party and across Parliament as a whole. Anyone who cares about Britain’s ongoing relationship with Europe and is concerned that our democracy at the heart of British government is under threat will want to hear Brendan speak and join in the discussion afterwards.

Stratford-on-Avon for Europe, or Stratford4Europe for short, is a local, cross- party, grass-roots organisation campaigning for Britain to play a leading role within a strong and united European Union.
Stratford4Europe is campaigning to make the positive case for the European Union in order to show, through the use of fair and honest argument, what leaving the EU will really mean for the people of Britain in terms of both our economy and national security.
Stratford4Europe consists of a Steering Group, which is always open to new members, as well as a rapidly growing supporter base. We have a wide range of ages and backgrounds but share in common the fact that we are all citizens with a deep concern that the future of this country will be severely damaged by it leaving the EU.
