Details
From the car park exit onto the B4089 Great Alne road and proceed across the road bridge over the River Arrow Continue up the pavement passing by the Greig Hall, the Shopping Precinct and a bus stop. In a further 250 yards you reach the turn towards the Arden Industrial Estate. Turn left here and continue along the pavement into the Industrial Estate. Cross over a the road junction and then in some 150 yards, turn left by the side of a factory and you will find the footpath continues along the back of factory buildings to reach a footbridge over a stream. Go over this and turn right to walk a clear well used footpath above the stream and to reach a stile. Go over this and the next stile then turn left and walk towards a farm barn. At the barn turn right onto a good farm track and walk this going generally northwards. This track will lead you to Church Farm. After passing by the farm you will soon arrive on Coughton Fields Lane.
Do not go onto the Lane but turn sharp left and walk along a well used public footpath that leads through metal gates down to the River Arrow Continue along this delightful footpath along the banks of the River Arrow. This is a very pleasant stretch of riverside walking but all too soon you will see the Industrial Buildings ahead and a footbridge
leads to the right of these to arrive at the B4089 road (a by-pass of the town) on the edge of the Arden Industrial Estate in Alcester. Go left, cross the road and head right down the pavement of the road. In about 150 yards turn left into the Westbury Park and stroll along the bank of the river to a footbridge over the river. At the end of this turn right and descend to continue now along the left bank of the river passing by picnic tables. The path arcs left and then right to enter the town's Recreation Park. Continue along the clear stone footpath by the side of the River Arrow with the football pitches to your left. At the far end of the Recreation Park ascend to a hedged footpath bearing right above the River and passing along the side of the buildings of the Greig Hall Leisure Complex to reach the B4089. You will emerge almost opposite to Arrow Surgery and turn right and you will cross back over the River Arrow on the way back to the car park (starting place).
