Ragley was designed by Robert Hooke, the inventive genius, in 1680 and is one of the earliest and loveliest of England’s great Palladian Houses. The perfect symmetry of the architecture of Ragley remains unchanged save for the spectacular portico by Wyatt added in 1780. The majestic Great Hall, soaring two storeys high, is adorned with some of England’s finest and most exquisite Baroque plasterwork by James Gibbs dated 1750.

Ragley houses a superb collection of 18

century and earlier paintings, china, and furniture and wonderful ceilings decorated with Grisaille panels and insets by Angelica Kauffman. And the breathtaking mural “The Temptation” by Graham Rust

Ragley is set in 400 acres of picturesque parkland landscaped by Lancelot “Capability” Brown and 27 acres of fascinating gardens including the enchanting rose garden, richly planted borders, mature woodland and the Jerwood Sculpture Park.

Near to the hall the working stables designed by James Gibbs in 1751 house a collection of carriages dating back to 1760 and equestrian equipment and the new Jerwood Exhibition Room.

For children there is an exciting woodland adventure playground, 3D maze and an extensive lakeside play and picnic area, and for walkers the delightful woodland walk.
