Details
From the Parking lay-by, cross over the B4088 road and walk the track opposite towards Nunnery Wood. On reaching the wood, do not enter but go left strolling around it's edge for some 1¾ miles. This is a pleasant walk by the side of Weethley Woods, where bluebells are plentiful and pheasants and deer may keep you company - you may be lucky and see a herd of deer in this pastureland
At the end of the third field there may be a stream to cross in wet weather - there is a farm bridge which may be used. About half a mile beyond this point (just before reaching a lane) turn sharp left and walk a waymarked footpath away from the road initially crossing cultivated land and later to the right of the hedge always aiming for Church Farm and the Weethley Church on the brow of the hill ahead of you. Near to the church go right through a gate and then left through a second gate onto the village road. You will pass by Church Farm and go between attractive houses to reach the B4088 road. Cross over the B4088 with care and continue by going over the stile opposite (set by a farm gate into the field opposite) pausing to enjoy a fine view over the surrounding countryside. Now descend to the left of the field hedge pausing from time to time to enjoy that lovely view towards Alcester.
As you descend the left side of the woods on Ashen Hill you will go over a second stile and then pass to the right of a sadly neglected half- timbered derelict barn. Here, go left up a waymarked 'permissive' path towards Thornhill Wood. You will soon enter the trees and after about ½ a mile of pleasant woodland walking, you arrive in the farm yard at Thornhill Farm. Immediately before reaching a wooden shed turn left and proceed through the gate at it's rear bearing left by the side of Thornhill Wood. Ascend the field to a stile sited in the left hand fence. Go over the stile and continue up the other side of the fence to two hand-gates which lead back up to the B4088 road lay-by where your car is parked.
