From the parking area in Great Alne exit turn right along the pavement of the B4089 road and stroll past the Village Hall and th4e Mother Huff Cap public house. Continue along the pavement past the village house and the 30 mph sign towards Alcester. The road bends sharp let and then right and at the right hand bend leave the pavement and turn left onto a public footpath that takes you near to the River Alne and soon you will see the impressive NT Dovecot Ahead of you.
A farm gates leads into the field where it is situated and when you have had your fill of the wonderful Dovecot exit via another farm gate to arrive near to the church in Kinwarton. Continue along the lane past Glebe Farm. Where the lane bends right continue ahead and you will find that the lane bends left by a lovely old cottage and you will reach a stile by a farm gate that leads into pastureland by the side of the River.
Walk the well used footpath across the field to reach a footbridge over the River. Go over this and ascend the narrow lane up past the entrance to Hoo Mill up to the Stratford Road. Turn left and walk along the grass verge of the road for about 650 yards then turn left and proceed over a field stile to join the Arden Way. Head along the waymarked footpath that hugs the field edge passing through a set of double farm gates on the right, then bearing left to continue along the field edge path. At a marker post go through a field gate, then go right and continue with the hedge on the right before going right through a farm gate. Proceed left along the farm track passing through a double farm gate to arrive on the lane on the edge of Haselor Village.
Turn left and proceed along the lane ascending gently through the village. Near the top of the village i.e. when opposite to the old Post Office turn right through a bridle gate by the village notice board and 3 person stocks. Descend through the farm gate and then ascend north eastwards towards Haselor church (SP 124579). You will pass to the right of the church and then descend a clear footpath to reach the lane on the edge of Walcote Village.
Cross over the lane and proceed over the field stile opposite into pastureland. The footpath hugs the right hand edge as you descend gently over three farm fields and all too soon you will be descending some steps to arrive on Wood Lane to the right of the buildings of Haselor Grounds. Cross over the lane and proceed over the footbridge opposite to cross over the River Alne. Follow the direction of the waymarker that will lead you across pastureland to arrive near to Great Alne Mills. Pass by the buildings of the former Mill and continue up its driveway. In about 100 yards turn left, and go over a stile into pastureland. Follow the waymarker direction (generally northwest) over several fields with the River Alne never far away (to your left). After nearly half a mile of delightful walking you will go through a kissing gate by a small telephone exchange to arrive back at you start place.
