Projects

NEW PROJECTS:

APPEAL for  CINE FILMS and VIDEOS etc. - We hope soon to be working with Leicester University on a project to preserve films of the district and its people.  If you have any videos or cine film that you would like preserved and digitised we should be able to help you through this project.  Please get in touch with Joy to register your interest, then we'll get back to you with more details when we have them.

Remembering Life In The Arrow Valley

We are creating a social memoir of life in the district for our archive.  Everyone has a story or two to tell, and we'd like to collect and collate your reminiscences of life and community in the district.

Please email me from the form below, or find me at a Society meeting for more details.  I'll be happy to receive emailed or written submissions, or to meet up for a chat and record one.

Digitising the Society's archive has started with the Photo Collection, currently underway.  Copies from the archive will be available to view at the mothly meetings - please take a look to help us identify who/what/when for each one.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  If you have a computer and/or scanner at home, a few hours to spare each week and good computer skills, we'd like to hear from you.  We are starting to compile a list of volunteers for this interesting and important project, to help with scanning or indexing.  If you can help, please use the email form below or make contact at a Society meeting.
